I am not sure about the Sofia Kovalevskaya info here. I didn't remove it, but different webpages claim she was appointed in different years, some say she was the first, some says she was the third. Maria Gaetana Agnesi became the first female professor in Bologna in 1750, or so that page says.

Changed this. She was the third. Laura Bassi and Maria Gaetana Agnesi, both in Bologna were professors before her by more than 100 years.Ellipse 00:18, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
