Stow Maries

Stow Maries is a village and civil parish in the English county of Essex.

Stow Maries is located on the western (inland) end of the Dengie peninsula and forms part of the Maldon district.

An airfield was established at Stow Maries during the First World War for the Royal Flying Corps; this was not used in the Second World War but, nonetheless, was bombed by the Luftwaffe^[1]. Stow Maries had a halt on the long-forgotten railway line that connected Woodham Ferrers and Maldon, this is now used by Essex Wildlife Trust ^[2].
