Dimmu Borgir released the fully re-recorded version of their previous album Stormblåst (1996) on November of 2005 in North America. Nuclear Blast Records has pushed the release date in Europe (except for Germany and Scandinavia) from the 7th of November to the 14th.

The 1996 version, which received high praise from many melodic black metal fans around the world, and is often referred to as the "highlight of the band's career". The album was completely re-recorded with producer, Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy and Pain).

The new version of Stormblåst includes two brand-new tracks: "Sorgens Kammer – Del II" and "Abmaktslave", and a live DVD of an entire set filmed from 2004's Ozzfest.

Dimmu Borgir has also filmed the "Sorgens Kammer - Del II" music video with director Patric Ullaeus of Sweden's Revolver Film Company and released the video to the public.
