Storm-Artists is an online artistic community.

Storm-artists was founded on the 8th of March, 2004 by Avo along with Crub (storm-artists user names) as a personal art galley. Since that time, storm-artists has grown into a online community with more than 2600 members and it currently hosts more than 20,000 pieces of artwork¹, becoming a site for may artists to display and discuss their work. Constructive criticism is actively encouraged and the staff maintain a stance of discouragement against the popularity contests that often plague sites of such a broad nature.

All web based services provided to users of storm-artists.net are free of charge and the operations of the site are currently funded through gifts made by members, although "Subscriptions" are currently under consideration.

Main Page Features: The main page of storm-artists.net currently displays the three most recent news posts, the eight most recently uploaded pieces of art, four weekly features which are picked by users who vote using "stars", four random artworks, the most recent activity for artwork, the forums and private user journals, a shoutbox, a most recent members list, a most active members list and links to important information.

User Pages: Users have the ability to configure both the layout of their user pages as well as create custom themes (though custom themes are not visible to non-logged-in members). User page sections include: User Profile, ID, Journal, Poll, Latest News Posts, Friends, Watched, Watched By, Group Membership, Featured Artwork, Random Artwork, Latest Artwork, Latest Star (see site above), Latest Favorites, Webcam and User Page Comments.

Other Features: Storm-Artists has a custom on-site forum. Also, site users can select a list of official themes for use while browsing the site, or they can even create their own. A separate IRC chatroom currently serves the site, which is linked from the shoutbox section of the site's main page.
