Storehouse Plc was the name of the group formed when UK retail companies Bhs, Habitat and Mothercare merged in mid-1986.

[edit] The Downfall

In 2000, following several years worth of tough trading for all companies within Storehouse Plc - mainly due to bad management and lack of investment Bhs was sold to Philip Green for £200m cash. Storehouse Plc then became Mothercare Plc and still trades under that name. Bhs was taken private by the new owner and now trades as Bhs Ltd, while Habitat now trades under the Habitat Group brand.
