Stop the Express is a ZX Spectrum video game made by Hudson Soft in 1983. There were also versions for the Commodore 64 and the MSX.
In Stage 1, the player runs along the top of an express train, jumping between carriages while avoiding enemy knives and obstacles. Half-way along the train, the player enters the train, and Stage 2 begins. The player must then proceed through the carriages, towards the front of the train, so that it can be stopped.
Upon the completion of each level, the game displays the Engrish message “Congraturation! You Sucsess!”. The game then repeats from Stage 1, with more enemies.
Stop the Express was rated as the 4th best Spectrum game by Your Sinclair, in their list of the top 100 Spectrum games.
In Japan, the game was known as Bousou Tokkyuu SOS (暴走特急SOS), and in Spain, Pánico en el Express.
The initial part of one of Hudson's Nintendo Famicom games, Challenger, bears great resemblance to Stop the Express.
