From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stop Climate Chaos is a coalition formed by 18 UK environmental and international development organisations and other groups in September 2005 to campaign for government action to halt climate change. Over 50 organisation are now members. The director is Ashok Sinha.

Its aim is to ensure that world leaders act so that greenhouse gas emissions are falling irreversibly by 2015, keeping average global temperature increase to under 2°C (3.6°F) and so avoiding the more serious consequences of global warming.

The coalition organised the iCount Climate Change Rally on the 4th of November 2006 to coincide with the Stern Report and to call on the Labour government to take action on climate change.

Stop Climate Chaos are support the concept of the Climate Change Bill, but have criticised the initial proposals as failing to take into account the 2ºC 'global warming danger threshold'.[1]
