[edit] History
The original school buildings, dating from 1871, are still in every day use, but most of the school dates from 1973 when a major programme of building work provided a hall, new classrooms, library, changing rooms, offices and an extended playground.
More recently the entrance hall, school office and meeting rooms were updated in 2006.
In 2006, Simon Rose was appointed headmaster, replacing outgoing head Ian Stewart.
[edit] Facilities
The school has an up to date Information and Communication Technology room to assist in the teaching of computer skills to large groups of children with connection to the world via the Internet. Interactive whiteboards are used in every classroom.
There are two separate playgrounds. For children's safety, the one used by the younger children is at the rear of the school, well away from the busy main road and almost enclosed. Our field provides facilities for games and athletics as well as additional recreational space in fine weather. In addition to the playground and classroom, Reception class has its own enclosed outdoor classroom space, which they use regularly for lessons.
