Stocksmoor is a small hamlet situated between the villages of Shepley and Brockholes.

It has a rail station on the Penistone railway line which connects Huddersfield and Sheffield and the traditional terminus of the 341 (First) bus service from Huddersfield.

Although there are no shops present, residents can make use of the Clothiers Arms pub.
