English: Powerful storm batters Northern Europe with rain and winds gusting to 70 knots (81 mph, 130 km/h). Meteo France are predicting winds to reach nearly 78 knots (90 mph, 145 km/h) in the Calais area, while Germany may experience winds up to 87 knots (100 mph, 161 km/h) in more exposed parts as reported by CNN and BBC Weather news. The numbers on the image represent wind gust in knots (1 knot is equivalent to 1.85 km/h or 1.15 mph).
