Stjepan Hauser

Stjepan Hauser was born in 1986 in Pula, Croatia where he started his elementary music education. The Music Grammar School he had enrolled and completed in Rijeka.
Apart from his school obligations, Stjepan has been performing as the youngest member of the Rijeka Philharmonic Orchestra since the age of sixteen. During his education in Rijeka, he had many performances and he won many competitions and awards. Altogether the cellist won seventeen first prizes in the national and international competitions.
Stjepan Hauser has given a series of outstanding performances in Croatia, as well as abroad in Slovenia, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Austria, United Kingdom, Albania, France and Italy.
Stjepan has given four New Year concerts where he gave a guest performance, playing as a soloist accompanied by the Rijeka Philharmonic Orchestra. He has appeared five times with the Zagreb Soloists in 2004, and has also performed as a soloist with the Alexander Moisiu Chamber Ensemble, Rijeka Chamber Orchestra, Isamnus Chamber Orchestra, the HRT Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Sinfonia, ...
Stjepan has participated in master classes with the most famous artists such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Heinrich Schiff, Karine Georgian, Hyoung-Won Chang, Silvia Sondeckiene, Valter Despalj, Reinhard Latzko, Karloy Botvay, Natalia Pavlutskaya, Alexander Ivashkin, Daniel Weiss, Ivry Gitlis to mention a few.
Currently Stjepan is studying with Natalia Pavlutskaya at Trinity College of Music, London, where he is also a member of the Greenwich Piano Trio, which won first prize and audience prize of the Cavatina Chamber Music Competition 2006. They performed in prestigious venues in UK including St.Martin in the Fields and in big festivals around Europe. During his time in London Stjepan won twice MBF Music Education Award 2005 and 2006, the prestigious Frankopan Award, 1st prize in the Vivian Joseph Classical Concerto competition and 1st prize in the Leonard Smith & Felicity Young competition 2007. In November 2005 he made his London debut at the Wigmore Hall. In October 2006 he was the only cellist chosen to perform in the gala concert at Palazzo Vecchio, Florence for Mstislav Rostropovich, following the success of this appearance Stjepan has been invited to perform at the most prestigious concert venues in Italy. His master class with Mr Rostropovich was filmed for a documentary film.
His performance of Kol Nidrei accompanied by Metropolitan Sinfonia was filmed by british BBC. Future in April 2007 Shostakovich cello concerto with Sinfonia di Friuli Venezia Giulia Orchestra in Italy
