[edit] Fair use rationale

This is a very important historical photograph of a person proclaimed People's Hero of Yugoslavia, showing him in a moment of his death. It is a famous photo familiar to much of population of former Yugoslavia and without it the Stjepan Filipović article would lose much on quality as most of its former Yugoslav readers primarily associate Filipović with this photo.

  • Person pictured is the subject of the article, and is dead, so no free version of the image could be made.
  • Image is of small size (less than 300 pixels wide) and low quality and unlikely to economically impact demand for the original image.
  • Person is an iconic historic figure (in the former Yugoslavia), and the image depicts events described in the article.
  • The image itself is iconic and associated with the subject of the article.
