Talk:Still Crazy After All These Years

[edit] To (album) or not to (album)?

When I created Still Crazy After All These Years (album) it was because it had been requested and there are a (nonexistent) link to it in Paul Simon under Discography. I put "(album)" on the end because that's the way it was in the link and in the other links I looked at (Graceland (album), Paul Simon (album)).

Now I see that not all the links have "(album)" after them and that perhaps "(album)" was added to disambiguate them. When I found the non-album article (which was nothing more than "It's an album") I thought I'd just redirect it. This also came about because typing "still crazy after all these years" into the Wikipedia search didn't go to my article.

Now my article has been copied to the non-album title, which I kind of understand. "Paul Simon" can be the artist or the album. But "Still Crazy..." can be the album or the song.

So instead of flipping each other's articles back and forth, let's talk about what's best. I vote for consistency and use the "(album)" form.

I'm always forgetting this myself, but the Wikipedia guideline is to not pre-emptively disambiguate. In other words, the album was here first to leave the name as-is. If and when someone writes an article about the song, then they can disambiguate that article by appending " (song)". -- Gyrofrog (talk) 07:23, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
