Stiphodon aureorostrum is a species of amphidromous freshwater goby. It is only known from Tioman Island, Malaysia, and even here it does not appear to be a common species.
This species stands as something of a giant among the diminutive members of this genus with one female (standard length 60.3 mm) being the largest Stiphodon individual recorded. The male is brighly coloured and has several distinctive features including greatly elongated dorsal fin rays, grey barring on the body, heavily spotted pectoral fins and a golden-yellow stripe on the snout. The female is more sombrely marked and is less easy to identify but it also has the distinctive yellow stripe on the snout.
