Still Life with Crows

Still Life with Crows is a thriller novel by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. It focuses on their character of FBI Special Agent Aloysius X.L. Pendergast.

Agent Pendergast visits Medicine Creek, Kansas after a gruesome murder occurs. While Pendergast researches the murder with the help of Corrie Swanson (a resident of Medicine Creek), more citizens are killed. Pendergast is soon led to believe that the murderer must be a member of the community. He soon discovers that the murders are connected to an old curse.

This novel serves as the introduction of Corrie Swanson, who aided Pendergast in solving the case. Pendergast takes Corrie under his wing in this novel and gives her the monetary assistance necessary to escape Medicine Creek and attend Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.
