Presumed dead, the Charmed sisters start their demon-free existence with new identities brought about by a spell that altered their appearances to the outside world, but not to those closest to them. Phoebe, excited to start her new life, is surprised to see Dex Lawson, a gorgeous artist she barely knew, at her funeral and even more surprised when she has a premonition that she will marry him. Now able to have a normal family life, Piper remains paranoid that the demons will find out the sisters are still alive. Attending her funeral disguised as supermodel Janice Dickinson, Paige realizes that she spent too much time in the magic world, yet soon figures out that she can't escape her Whitelighter instincts and answers a call of a new charge - a young witch named Billie Jenkins.

  • Jason Lewis replaces Mark McGrath for the role of "Dex" before they filmed this episode because McGrath had scheduling conflicts. Dex Lawson contains the names of two well-liked WB characters, Lex and Dawson.
  • The scene where Billie crashes into the manor wearing a black wig and a leather outfit is inspired by the ABC spy series Alias.
  • The episode title is a play on words to the Simple Minds song Alive and Kicking.
  • It is referenced that Glen Belland, Paige's close friend who appeared in three episodes spanning seasons four and five, attended the sisters' funeral and visited Paige's urn.
  • At the end of the episode, when Victor enters his apartment, Phoebe is there, in disguise, then Wyatt orbs in, followed by Piper. Piper does not have the power to orb. However, Paige has since season seven possessed the power to remotely orb someone else.
  • The actor who portrays the character of Haas, Mykel Shannon-Jenkins, won the contest on the series I Wanna Be a Soap Star.
  • The Charmed Ones have something in common this season, they all have the same reddish, dark brown hair color.
  • Actress Adrienne Wilkinson is another addition to several actors who have appeared on both series Charmed and Xena: Warrior Princess. On that series Adrienne played Xena's daughter Eve. Previously actress Jennifer Sky appeared in the Xena series as the Amazon Amarice, and in the Charmed season six episode The Power of Three Blondes. Actress Melinda Clarke also appeared in the Xena series as the also Amazon character Velasca, and in the season five Charmed episode Siren's Song.
  • Actor, Brandon Quinn, Big Wolf on Campus, makes a guest appearance as: Agent Murphy.
  • Piper gets a new car, a dark blue 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
  • Paige shows martial art moves when she is fighting with Billie.
