Stiliagos

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stiliagos is a Lithuanian variation of teddy boys, first appeared in the largest cities of Lithuania in the second part of the 50-ies. They were listening to rock'n'roll and jazz music, were good at dancing twist and rock'n'roll. They did not have any stronger ideology - mostly were distinct for their dressing and hairstyle.

The main features of fellows had been short, narrowing trousers, big shoes, tie (most often with a picture of palm or a naked woman), wide shouldered checked jacket, brushed upwards and standing straight longish hair.

The main features of girls had been a special dishevelled hairstyle ("nachiosas"), deeply coloured eyes and short dresses.

Repressive bodies of the Soviet Union persecuted teddy boys, shaved off their hairs and cut their trousers.
