[edit] Pants Dropping

Were there any fines and suspensions that occurred because of that? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 144.126.161.43 (talkcontribs).

[edit] unfactual commentary

If you're going to accuse Steve Lyons of blurting out falsities, you might want to use a better example. Over the course of the 2006 season the Detroit Tigers became notorious for being very aggressive batters. Just because Placido Polanco showed great plate discipline this season does not make his statement untrue. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.109.117.58 (talk • contribs).

[edit] New Sections

Someone needs to make an entirely new "Controversy" section for this particular article. Either that or a "Recent History" section. This article needs clean up. It's incredibly disorganized. Sweet Pinkette 21:44, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Steve Lyons' firing

Can someone explain to me the big deal of what Lyons said? I'm at a loss. Aplomado talk 21:49, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused, also, but in any case we should attribute things. The article currently says he made a "racist remark". Was the remark "racist"? If so, who has said so and can we cite them? What did Fox call it when firing him? --Delirium 04:29, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

I did not see anything wrong with what he said. This country is going down the shitter. People are way to sensitive. Joe 01:29, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
I agree with you completely, people in this country are much too sensitive these day. Whatever he said, Piniella thought was funny. They should fire Piniella too, he is bad. Tigersfan1992 21:44, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

The part about Lyons making a "racially insensitive remark" is not NPOV. I have twice changed it and twice found it reverted back without so much of an explanation. 129.237.95.71 02:05, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Incident With Tony Womack

Anyone else remember in 2001 after Tony Womack got a walkoff hit for the Arizona Diamondbacks to beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the division series? A woman walked up and kissed Womack, and walked away. Lyons went over to interview him and asked "Was that your mom?" to which Womack (very annoyed) answered "...that's my wife." This exchange did happen, but I don't have a source for it. If anyone does, I think it would be a good addition to the article.
