Steve Stanley

Steve Stanley (1970–) is a Los Angeles-based songwriter, musician, graphic designer, and author. His band, The Now People, released an album, The Last Great 20th Century Love Affair, on Parasol Records (Birdsong) in 2006. Steve also engineered, performed on, and co-produced Carolyn Edwards's debut eponymous album, released on True Classical CDs in 2006.

He has penned liner notes for, designed and/or produced over 70 CD reissues for Rev-Ola Records, Del-Fi Records, Rhino Records, Sympathy For The Record Industry, and other labels. Some of the artists include the Cowsills, the Merry-Go-Round, Paul Williams, Roger Nichols, Curt Boettcher, Claudine Longet and many others. His articles—often focused on overlooked 60's cult musicians and bands—have been published in Mojo Magazine and Record Collector (Japan). As a graphic designer, he worked on former Beach Boy Brian Wilson's What I Really Want For Christmas album, released in 2005, deluxe packages for Rhino Handmade and Warner's UK (Nuggets limited editions). He has also designed CDs for Majestic Music (Peter Himmelman's Imperfect World), and Image Entertainment (Wondermints' Mind If We Make Love To You). In the late 1990's, Steve worked as sales manager/A&R for the revamped legendary indie label Del-Fi Records in Los Angeles where he co-produced and/or assisted in the production of various releases including Gee Baby Gee: The Del-Fi Girl Groups and Delfonic Sounds Today! Steve also had a small role as an actor in the 2000 made-for-TV movie, The Beach Boys: An American Family.
