Steve Helstrip

Steve Helstrip is an English trance DJ, producer and remixer. He is more commonly known by his guise The Thrillseekers, under which he has been at the forefront of the trance genre since the release in 1998 of his critically acclaimed track, Synaesthesia. He has also worked under the guises of En Motion, Insigma, Rapid Eye, and Hydra. He is also prominent for his work in remixing, having remixed work by, among others, DJ Tiesto, Timo Maas, Sonique, Chicane, Blank & Jones, and Seb Fontaine. He owns his own record label, Adjusted Music.

Helstrip first started to make electronic music while he was working for the computer games developer Manic Media. Living at this time in Chipping Norton, using his home studio, Helstrip took it upon himself to learn DJing.
It was with this fairly basic home studio that he created his most well-known track to date, Synaesthesia, first signed and released by Neo Records, and going on to sell over 12,000 copies. It was this track that brought Helstrip to prominence, having received support from DJs such as Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk. The latter signed the track to his Vandit label and played it liberally at gigs. Van Dyk's remixing of the track, with the inclusion of vocals from Sheryl Deane, brought the track to no. 27 in the UK charts.
