Steve Davis (comedian)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steve Davis is an Australian comedian renowned for his performance as the "mad waiter", his corporate hoaxes and his crazy characters.

Steve started performing in 1979 as a street-perfomer in Melbourne. His comedy-juggling act was something very new to Australia and he quickly moved from the streets to clubs and ultimately to corporate shows where he is now firmly entrenched.

During his career Steve Davis has been the support act for a range of international acts touring Australia including John Denver, Bruce Springsteen, Roberta Flack, Simon & Garfunkle, Jose Feliciano and Barry Manilow.

He is also a noted environmental activist and was one of eighty Australians selected to be trained by Al Gore in December 2006 to lead presentations of the An Inconvenient Truth climate change slide show.

Steve built a rammed earth house on the Gold Coast and has an extensive web site on the project.

As an active member of his community he donates time to his local volunteer bushfire brigade and as a Clown doctor (Dr Kerfuffle)
