Steve Butler (born September 26, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas) was an open-wheel racer who was successful in USAC Sprint Car and Silver Crown racing.

Butler collected USAC sprint car championships in 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1990, and Silver Crown titles in 1988 and 1992. Butler won sprint car races on pavement, dirt, and on dirt with wings. He is the only driver to ever win in all of those capacities in one season. He retired from the sport in 1993, but remains the only 4-time USAC sprint car champion in the club's 50 year history. Butler is also the first (of two) 3 consecutive USAC championship winning drivers.

In 1994, Butler was inducted into the Hoosier Auto Racing Fan club.

In 2004, Butler was inducted into the Howard County, Indiana Sports Hall of Fame.

In 2005, Butler was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame at Knoxville, Iowa in recognition of his career accomplishments.
