Steve Brown (yo-yo player)

Steve Brown is a professional performer as a comedian and a yo-yoer.

In 1996, Brown competed in the World Yo-Yo Contest and place fourth. The next year, he place fourth in Single A (Single-handed) yo-yoing and came in fourth and third in Singe A Freestyle (single-handed Counterweight) yo-yoing. In 1998, he came in fourth in Single A Freestyle.

In 1998, Brown worked for Team Losi and designed a series of high end yo-yos for the company.

In 1999, Brown competed in the Bay Area Classic Invitational and won the Single A Freestyle. In 2001, he again won the event, this time yo-yoing while blindfolded. The same year, Brown served as Owen Wilson's stunt double during a yo-yoing scene in the film Zoolander.

Brown is one of only seven people in the world to have received the National Yo-Yo Master Award. After receiving this award, Brown retired from competition. Steve Brown used be a marketing executive for Duncan Toys, a division of Flambeau Plastics, where he designed and marked yo-yos for them. In 2006 Steve Brown left Duncan, and started a full time performing career. His first major tour after leaving Duncan was to become part of the Grim Brothers Sideshow that was touring with Korn. He is childhood friends with Jack Ringca, the drummer for The Usuals.
