Steve Bozek (Born November 26, 1960 in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada) is a retired professional hockey player who played in the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings, Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks. He played left wing.
Bozek was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 3rd round, 52nd overall in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft while still playing for Northern Michigan University. Bozek played three years there and led the team in scoring during the 1980-1981 season and was named a CCHA first team all-star twice.
After college Bozek immediatly broke into the Kings lineup for the 1981-1982 season, scoring a career-high 33 goals in his rookie season. He played one more season with the Kings before being traded to the Calgary Flames. Bozek played 5 seasons with the Flames, his longest tenure with one team. During the 1987-1988 season Bozek was part of a famous trade when he and future NHL Superstar Brett Hull were traded from the Flames to the St. Louis Blues for defenseman Rob Ramage and goalie Rick Wamsley. A nagging knee injury allowed Bozek to play only 7 games with the Blues that season. He was traded back to the Flames prior to the start 1988-1989 season and then traded to the Vancouver Canucks the same day. Bozek played 3 seasons with the Canucks before signing as a free agent with the newly formed San Jose Sharks for their inaugural season in 1991. After his one season with the Sharks Bozek played in Italy for a year before retiring in 1993.
