From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steve Karl-Heinz Bender (born November 2, 1946 in Mainz, Germany, died May 7, 2006) was a former disco musical performer and record producer.

Aside from a solo career which has spanned over four decades, Bender has performed with the German groups The Poor Things and Dschinghis Khan. In the popular video "Moskau", Bender is attired in a blue jumpsuit.

Popular for being the "bald one" in the Dschinghis Khan musical group, Bender was one of the lead male singers until December 1981 when he left the group, reportedly on the advice of his doctor concerning back pain [1]. He was also one of the only two Germans in the group. He participated in the Dschinghis Khan revival concert on December 17, 2005 in the Russian Olympiyski Arena with several of his former Dschinghis Khan partners, including Edina Pop and Henriette Strobel.

Shortly after this reunion, his life ended on May 7th of the following year from cancer.
