Steve Angello

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steve Angello (born Steve Josefsson Fragogiannis) is a Swedish DJ and producer. He is part of a four person group dubbed the Swedish House Mafia.

[edit] Background

Angello grew up in a crime family in Athens, and watched his father die at 13 years of age. Determined not to follow the family's criminal traditions, music took the better of him. He started out as a Turntablist, fusing hip-hop, breakbeats and 70's classics, in the club life of Stockholm. He later moved onto house music.

[edit] Production

Angello produces under the alias Who's Who?, under which the hit Not So Dirty was released.

Steve also works closely with childhood friend Sebastian Ingrosso on many projects, producing under the following names: Buy Now, Fireflies, General Moders, Mode Hookers, Outfunk and The Sinners.

In addition he has produced with Eric Prydz under the name A & P Project, and with Axwell under the name Supermongo, which was later renamed to Supermode.

First Optional Deal is a production group consisting of Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Flex and Sandy Wilhelm. As of 2007 only one song has been released under this moniker, titled "Stockholm 2 Paris".

Angello's production is mainly classified as house ("Summer Noize"), progressive ("Yeah") and electro house ("Raining Again").

Angello is currently the owner of the record label Size.
