Steve Andreas is an American author in the field of Neuro-linguistic programming. Since 1977, Steve, together with his partner Connirae Andreas have edited and published a number of titles on the subject. They are best known in the field for their annotated transcripts of a variety of early NLP seminars.
He is the son of Barry Stevens, who was a writer and a well-known gestalt therapist. Steve Andreas (at that time still John O. Stevens) founded Real People Press to publish a book by Carl Rogers and his mother, Barry Stevens, with the title "Person to Person".
Steve Andreas (formerly John O. Stevens) worked as a Chemist until 1962, when he switched to psychology, specializing in gestalt therapy from around 1968. He was involved in Gestalt therapy for around ten years before hearing of neuro-linguistic programming in 1977 and changing interests. [1] [2]
In 1979 Steve and Connirae established NLP Colorado, (now known as NLP Comprehensive) to develop the training arm of their business, which was later transferred to Tom Dotz in 1998. [3] They continue to own Real People Press, a small publisher of psychology and personal change.
