Stephen Bardo

Stephen "Steve" Bardo (born April 5, 1968 in Henderson, Kentucky) is a former professional basketball player who currently works in broadcasting. During his standout career at the University of Illinois, which included an appearance in the 1989 NCAA men's basketball tournament Final Four, he scored 909 points and compiled 495 assists. He was then selected in the 1990 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, but never played for them, spending time in the Continental Basketball Association before joining the San Antonio Spurs during the 1991-92 NBA season. Bardo also played for the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, and teams in France, Italy, Japan, Spain, and Venezuela before joining ESPN in August 2000, where he currently works as a color commentator for basketball games. Bardo also works as a sports reporter for Chicago's WBBM-TV (CBS Channel 2), and he is an analyst for the Illini Sports Network, which broadcasts University of Illinois sporting events.
