Stephanie St. Clair

Stephanie St. Clair was a black French woman born in Martinique and immigrated to America in 1912. She became a gangster in Harlem, New York City in the early 20th Century. Known as Madame St. Clair, she ran one of the leading Numbers games.

She was portrayed by Novella Nelson in the film The Cotton Club (1984) and Cicely Tyson in the film Hoodlum (1997).
