Steady Eddy is the stage name of a Christopher Widdows, an Australian comedian and actor with Cerebral Palsy. Widdows uses his disability as a basis for his comedy. He performs mainly in pubs or hotels. In 1994, he appeared at the Just for Laughs comedy festival, which was broadcast nationally in Canada on the Comedy Network and in the United Kingdom on the BBC.[1]

Chris: "One time I won a rap dancing competition. I didn't even enter. All I did was walk into the bar. I smoke 40 times a day. The reason I smoke so much is because I drop 30".

[edit] Acting

Chris Widdows plays the role of intellectually disabled Trevor in the Australian movie Under the Radar (2004). While on the set there was some friction between him and Nathan Phillips (Australian Rules, Take Away, You and Your Stupid Mate, Wolf Creek) Nathan: "It's not that we would fight. It's just that I couldn't look him in the eye and vice versa. By the end of the shoot we became friends though".

Australian comedian Rodney Rude performs a song in 'dedication' to Steady Eddy, singing of how he has 'no mates at the piss trough, 'cause Steady will just piss all over you.'
