A tag has been placed on Jack Iten, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company or website, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Jack Iten is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Jack Iten. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. -- Fan-1967 22:44, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Even if you prove everything in the article is absolutely true, we still have an extremely active and successful 13-year-old. Hardly measures up to the successful authors, businessmen, actors and political leaders that we normally want to document. Read the standards at Wikipedia:Notability (people). Look at it another way: Are people going to come to Wikipedia looking for information on Stephen King, or Bill Gates, or Tom Cruise, or Tony Blair? Absolutely, thousands of them every hour. Are people going to come here looking for information on Jack Iten? Only the people who already know him. He is not, by Wikipedia standards, a Notable Person. Sorry.
