[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kiniski-06.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kiniski-06.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Garner1.jpg)

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Garner1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Yamla 15:17, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

The image of Jennifer Garner that was obtained for both her bio and that of her Alias character Sydney Bristow was obtained from the same website as that of the other Alias cast members with photos in their actor and Alias character bios (www.abc.com) - I see no reason why the other cast members can have photos in their bios while Garner's photos keep getting removed, and I don't believe that the removal is fair, as her photo is just as useful as those in the bios of the other Alias cast members.--Starbuck-2 11:47, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violation

All copyrighted images require a detailed fair-use rationale for each use on the Wikipedia. Your changes to Jennifer Garner, etc. were reverted because you have violated this policy. --Yamla 15:13, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

I already said that the image of Jennifer Garner in her bio was obtained from the same source as those of her castmates on Alias (at www.abc.com), and none of the others' bios or photos are having the same problems - I also believe that the picture on Garner's bio is every bit as useful as those of her Alias castmates.--Starbuck-2 19:25, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Featured article candidate review: Buffy article

Hi

You maybe interested to know that the article 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' has recently been nominated as a candidate to become a featured article. Should it become a featured article, it will be possible for the article to appear on the Wikipedia main page on March 10th 2007, the 10th anniversary of Buffy (the premiere, "Welcome to the Hellmouth" aired March 10th 1997).

Any feedback you can offer to improve the article and/or to either object or support the nomination, would be wonderful. Thanks -- Paxomen 18:23, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed you commented on the Buffy article's status at Talk:Buffy the Vampire Slayer, however for a vote to count towards the fate of an article it needs to be done at: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A number of editors have highlighted many areas in which the article needs to improve. I think it could be done though. Thanks -- Paxomen 11:06, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Ah, okay - not a prob (lol). Starbuck-2 11:54, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Buffy nomination restarted: Since you have were involved with discussion before at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you might appreciate knowing that the nomination for the Buffy article has been restared at the same wiki page. I am letting everyone know who might not be aware (whether they were for or against the article becoming featured). Cheers -- Buffyverse 22:26, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] That's not how Wikipedia works

You reverted virtually all of my changes to CKNW (AM), reinstating grammatically incorrect sentences that I spent an hour fixing last night. That's not how it works; you don't own that article. Please, read what I've changed, and feel free to improve on it...but don't simply revert it to an inferior version. I don't claim that my last version is perfect, but it was improvement over what was there. If you have specific issues with what I've changed, please comment on Talk:CKNW (AM). -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 16:00, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship

I am sorry, but I had to revert back to my last edits because the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship used in the Toronto area in the 70's and 80's was revived by ECCW in 1998. Go to Solie.org if you don't believe me. I am just adding what is correct. Mr. C.C. 20:15, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

The Wrestling Titles history website (http://www.wrestling-titles.com) does not consider the Toronto Canadian title and the current NWA Canadian title to be the same title. They are kept listed separately on that site, which is based on Gary Will's Wrestling Title Histories book (which also counts the Toronto title and the current title as separate championships), so they should be kept as such on Wikipedia. Starbuck-2 22:33, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
A lot of stuff on Solie.org is based on Gary Will's Wrestling Title Histories book also. But it says that ECCW revived that title. So obviously it was that very title used in the Toronto area because saying that ECCW revived it would be false. Mr. C.C. 23:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ivan Ackery

A tag has been placed on Ivan Ackery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, article #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ju66l3r 05:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Already taken care of - and I'll be working on expanding the article using available sources. Starbuck-2 05:19, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on 1990s CTV prime time schedules, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Steve (Slf67) talk 03:06, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Primetime schedules

I've seen a few of these similar TV schedules deleted at AfD, for having too much trivial, non-encyclopaedic information. Wikipedia is not for indiscriminate lists of information. It's your call but I'm pretty sure it will get deleted sooner or later. I'd hate to see you waste your time. --Steve (Slf67) talk 03:25, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
