[edit] can anyone clarify? addition by 152.163.253.71

This addition by 152.163.253.71 makes no sense to me... can anyone clarify?

Again to this point, how was it to be known that certain vessels were given identifier numbers that were preceded by NAR CLASS VESSEL, such as the USS Raven from ST: VOY, and the following classifications: NCC- NCV TIME VESSEL NCC- NDT CLASS VESSEL NCC- NFT CLASS VESSEL NCC- NGL CLASS VESSEL NCC- NSP CLASS VESSEL, including the most important of scientific vessels, the Oberth class.

The new edit clarifies this greatly, thanks. --Arteitle 09:30, Mar 30, 2004 (UTC)

You're welcome. The Raven is an odd duck, since she's been referred to at various times as the "SS Raven" and the "USS Raven", the latter of which would seem to be at odds with the established use of "NAR" as being a non-Starfleet research ship. Iceberg3k 20:28, Apr 4, 2004 (UTC)

Roddenberry and the original creators of Star Trek came out of WWII. They knew something about the military. Since then, the fans, and the new writers did not and still do not know what NCC means. On a ship, in the United States, it would mean New Cruiser Command. IF there had been frigates, I'm sure they would have been labeled FF and battleships BB, ANY errors must be on the part of writers. Most of not all errors are on the part of all writers since different writers worked on different episodes at the same time and no one cross checked their facts. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.112.172.143 (talk • contribs).

Enterprise NX-01 is New Experimental-01 Excelsior was NX-2000, etc —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.112.172.143 (talk • contribs).

[edit] move this to NCC (Star Trek). Move NCC (disambiguation) here

As I have Northern Counties Committee, which being real and fairly significant, should be linked to by a NCC disambiguation page, that's my feelings anyway. Any objection? Dunc_Harris| 23:32, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] NS + CCCP

If "NCC" comes from "NS" + "CCCP", then the abbreviation switches writing systems in the middle. "NS" is Latin script, but "CCCP" is cyrillic, meaning "SSSR" in Latin. JIP | Talk 08:09, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Moved again!

in the absence of another 'starship registry' article I have moved this page to 'Starfleet starship registry' removing the unnecessary disambiguation. --Cat out 07:37, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
