[edit] Eric Prieur

Eric Prieur is a "developer". Eric Prieur is a programmer. Eric Prieur's name was placed on the PRIMARY developer list by one of the owners of Star Sonata.

Developer doesnt mean "owner". "Primary developer" doesnt mean "owner". Developer means one who develops. Eric Prieur is one of the most active developers. I'm not sure why the demand to have his name removed from the primary list. ---J.S (t|c) 21:38, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

According to the link you posted, http://starsonata.com/about.html ...
Star Sonata is by Adam Miller, Sherman Mui, and Jeff Landauer.
Programming by Adam Miller, Sherman Mui, Jeff Landauer and Roch Denis.
Content by Adam Miller, Jeff Landauer, and Eric Prieur.
Additional programming by Danny Chi, Mark Elrod, and Adrian Eyre.
This says that Eric Prieur delivers CONTENT, not PROGRAMMING. Also, we have no way of verifying that the "owner" of Star Sonata that you reference is actually an owner. It is equally likely the troll from before and you are being duped.192.100.104.28 18:36, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Ok, PLEASE look closer. Nowhere does it say any of those people are developers. Let me try to make this clear: A programmer is a developer, yes. A person who makes content is ALSO a developer! That person is DEVELOPING THE GAME!
/me calms down Ok... let me put it another way... The guy at ID software who wrote the gaming engine is a developer... but so is the guy who sat back and made all the levels. That's what Eric does. He makes the "levels" (well, SS's equivalent at least)
Also, the JeffL who made the change was the real JeffL, I have confirmed as such by email. I know that's not a WP:RS, but it gives me the faith the press the issue. ---J.S (t|c) 20:33, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] blog as a source.

Peterb, of Tea Leaves, suggests that Star Sonata drew most of its inspiration from Escape Velocity. Peterb went so far as to say "Star Sonata is like Escape Velocity, only online". [1]

That is the content that an anon removed recently citing that a blog is not a reliable source. Here's what it says in WP:RS:

...self-published books, personal websites, and blogs are largely not acceptable as sources.

I think the operative word here is "largely". In this case I feel that the Peterb quote is justified since in the context of online games blogs are the most common source of "news". The way the phrase is presented it makes it clear that it is an opinion and give the exact website so the user can make there own judgement on it's veracity.

If there are no objections, I'll be replacing it in a few days. ---J.S (t|c) 19:17, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

yea, it says "NOT ACCEPTABLE". I'm removing it. You should quit wikipedia.
Blogs are specifically not forbidden. Read the language again. The quote is a good, verifiable way to illustrate a common comparison without getting into Original Research. Furthermore, on a personal note, you are required to edit wikipedia in a civil manner. Failing that may eventually get you blocked from editing. ---J.S (t|c) 22:38, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Wrong, (Personal attack removed). The quote IS original research. Peterb SUGGESTS? I suggest that star sonata sucks, maybe I should create a blog and suggest that in the article. (Personal attack removed). Suggesting is a weasel word. I'm removing it.
Ok, you have exhausted good faith. ---J.S (t|c) 16:41, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
