[edit] Climbing guide

I think adding a wiki climbing guide to the encyclopedia would be a good idea. Providing an open source resource that could be easily accessed and printed off, or accessed in the field for the more high tec climber. Any comments? or does this already exist somewhere?

Wikipedia isn't the place for guides. A brief summary is useful, but more detail should go elsewhere - perhaps Wikitravel? Warofdreams talk 00:59, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Name

The name of the edge is 'Stanage Edge' as far as I know (e.g. that is the name on the OS map). Any particular reason why the article consistently refers to it as 'Stanage'? --VinceBowdren 13:50, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I was under the impression that either was correct. We could switch to the OS usage, but this isn't always definitive - for instance, they always use Youlgreave, even though it's locally known as Youlgrave. Google suggests either is roughly equally common; "Stanage" on its own seems more popular with climbers; "Stanage Edge" is favoured by most works on Google Books. Sounds fair. --VinceBowdren 18:49, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
