This is a list of States and Union Territories of India by installed capacity of power utilities with generation mode break-up as of 3 April 2006 published by the Ministry of Power with figures in millions of watts.

[edit] Wind Energy

India is also a leading producer of Wind Energy (producing around 5000 Mega Watts). Around 60% of India's Wind energy comes from southern state of Tamil Nadu.
