State Historical Society of Missouri

Founded in 1898 by the Missouri Press Association and a trustee of the state since 1901, The State Historical Society of Missouri is a comprehensive research facility established for the purpose of the preservation and study of Missouri's cultural heritage. Housed in Ellis Library on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus, the Society is centrally located in Columbia, Missouri.

The State Historical Society of Missouri houses an art gallery, photograph collection, and newspaper and reference libraries. All collections are open and fully accessible to the public.
