State Attorney General

The State Attorney General in the United States is an executive office in all 50 US States that serves as the chief legal advisor to the state government and the chief law enforcement officer in the various states. In some states, the Attorney General serves as the head of the state's Department of Justice with responsibilities similar to that of the United States Department of Justice. Many attorneys general are elected state-wide, while in other states the selection is made by the Governor or the state legislature.
