[edit] Overview
The novel criticizes the modern church for being "born-again lazy" and being "chained to the pew".[1] It encourages born again Christians to get up, get out, and get working for the ministry of Jesus Christ. The subtitle "40 days of nothing" refers to the 40 day fast of Jesus before he was to be tempted in the wilderness by Satan. The novel also asks the question "Are you starving Jesus?"
[edit] Practical Impact
From August 5th, 2006 to September 13th, 2006, Craig and JR particpated in a forty day fast to promote their new book and alert Christians to the dangers of "turning inward". They detailed their journey via blog and podcast.
As of November 2006 they are planning to do another tour, but most likely will not fast the entire 40 days.
