The protagonist of the book is Aasha Rani, a small-town girl strived seven years to become a famous Bollywood starlet. Her mother pushed her to attain this status by selling herslf into the world of blue films and to the inner circle of Bollywood cinema by sleeping with all the right producers, meeting all the right people. She falls in love with a man and has a passionate love affair that threatens to destroy all that she has earned.
