Starman (EarthBound)

Starmen are Giygas' shock troops in the Nintendo Famicom RPG Mother. Their mission is to destroy Ninten and his friends by any means necessary. They come in four classes, from weakest to strongest: Starman Jr., Starman, Blue Starman, and Last Starman.

In Mother 2, better known outside Japan as EarthBound, there are six classes of Starmen. Listed from weakest to strongest, they are: Starman Jr., Starman, Starman Super, Starman DX, Ghost of Starman, and Final Starman. A Starman Jr. is encountered early in the game, but the battle cannot be lost and is only to progress the plot.

They appear in several places throughout the games, as well as on many promotional materials (such as the North American EarthBound cartridge label). All Starmen have an emblem on the left of their body that includes a triangle, two rectangles, and a small square. There is also a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee displaying a Starman.
