Starchild is a 1984 album by singer Teena Marie. The album is most known for boasting the hit "Lovergirl", Marie's most commercially successful single to date. Also included is one of many musical tributes that year to soul legend Marvin Gaye, titled poignantly "My Dear Mr. Gaye." "Out on a Limb" is the heartbreaking story of the pains of letting go of love while "We've Got To Stop (Meeting Like This)" is a duet which tells the story of the difficulties of long-distance relationships.
Its peak position on the Billboard 200 was number 31.
