Star TV (Turkey)

Star TV is a Turkish nation wide TV channel. It was owned by Cem Uzan until it was sold to Aydın Doğan for 306,5 American Dolars in 2005.
Founded by Cem Uzan and Ahmet Özal in 1990 as STAR 1, Star TV is Turkey's first private TV channel. For a brief time in early 90s, it was called Star Magic Box because Star 1 name was copyrighed by another media corporation. Its first logo was a blue S with a star on it before it turned to red in late 90s.
The channel is also the first Turkish channel to start digital broadcasting in 1999. The channel can be found on DigiTurk Channel 27.

It is also famous for its Parliament Pazar Sinema Gecesi (Parliament Sunday Movie Night) in the mid 90s, which showed high quality films without any commercial breaks, despite the sponsorship by the cigarette brand.

The channel also broadcasts in Europe with the name of EuroStar with the difference of not broadcasting Champions League matches live.
EuroStar's former name was InterStar until 2002.
