Star Light, Star Bright is the name of a nursery rhyme.

Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

Though it's unsure if the superstition or rhyme came first, it's said that if you see the first star visible as nightfall comes, you recite this rhyme and make a wish upon the star.

This nursery rhyme appears in the movie "8 mm", with Nicolas Cage. It also forms some of the lyric's of Madonna's song, "[1]Lucky Star"
