[edit] Synopsis
Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad are travelling to a Mushroom Colony planet, when their ship is pursued by the Death Star-like Koop Star. Bowser, under the guise of Darth Koopa, pulls the Marios' ship onboard the Koop Star with a tractor beam, and sends his Stormtroopas to fight them. Although the heroes manage to fight off the Stormtroopas, Bowser shows up and challenges Mario to a duel with lightplungers. Although Mario wins, Bowser retaliates by freezing the heroes in blocks of ice.
With the heroes wrapped around his finger, Bowser orders Mouser to thaw them out, but only to blackmail Peach into telling the Mushroom Colonists to surrender their planet, or have it destroyed by his Birdo Ray. Peach refuses to surrender, so Mouser warms up the Birdo Ray, which will fire in thirty minutes, and drops the heroes down the garbage disposal.
Mario uses his plunger to save everyone from being mulched in the disposal, while Luigi clogs it with silverware, allowing the heroes to pass trough it safely. Soon they are ejected out of the Koop Star via a garbage rocket, where they land on the surface of the Mushroom Colonists' planet. After evading a Cobrat and a Pokey, they manage to reach the Colony, where Obi-Wan Toadi arranges to have the four heroes attack the Koop Star in Mushroom Starfighters. Mario has second thoughts, as he hasn't eaten lunch, but Obi-Wan gives him the strength he needs with a personal pizza.
With only a few minutes remaining on the Birdo Ray's timer, the four heroes fly their Starfighters towards the Koop Star, where they are pursued by Koopa Starfighters. Luigi and Peach fight off several Starfighters, while Toad covers Mario as he scrambles to find an entry point into the Koop Star. Mario flies into the Koop Star, blows up the foundation with a Bob-omb, and flies away, blowing up the Koop Star right before the Birdo Ray would've gone off.
Afterwards, the heroes return to the Mushroom Colony, where everyone congratuagles them. Mario is honored after what he'd been through, but he's actually more concerned about having lunch instead.
[edit] Trivia/Goofs
- This episode is an obvious parody of Star Wars.
- This episode's plumber's log (#2001) was also used in Robo Koopa. The number is a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- This is Mouser's last appearance on the show.
- When Bowser asks how much time is left on the Birdo-ray, Mouser says it is 16 minutes, but the timer says it's under 5 minutes, and then it changes back to the correct time.
[edit] Live-Action Segment: "Santa Claus is Coming to Flatbush"
[edit] Synopsis
It's Christmastime, but the Mario Bros. are very low on funds, and can only afford the cheapest of foods and presents. Soon a man named Nick, who resembles Santa Claus, enters the basement, and asks for the Marios' hospitality, as he lost his "transportation". The Marios feed Nick their dinners, and give him their presents. In the morning, Nick has already left, but not without leaving new presents for the Bros., and a thank-you note signed SC. The Marios then see Santa's sleigh pass by outside, but they doubt that Nick really was Santa.
