The Star Case is a custom molded plastic case manufactured by ProTech [1] made for protecting carded action figures[2]. The most popular use for them is protecting Star Wars figures[3]. The Star Case has a hook style attached to the top of the case for mounting on pegs.
The Star Case was originally only available in one style, custom fitted for Vintage Star Wars figures. As card styles change, new case styles have been introduced.
Cases are available for Vintage Figures (Dimensions: 9" long, 6" wide, and 2 1/4" deep), figures with bubbles more than 2" (Dimensions: 9" long, 6" wide, and 2 5/8" deep), Episode III / Saga figures (Dimensions: 9" long, 6" wide, and 2 1/4" deep), Unleashed and Episode II Deluxe Figures (Dimensions: 8" wide, 9" high, 2 3/4" deep).
AFA and many ebayers suggest carded figures for collecting purposes are shipped in these cases.
