Stanley Smith
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stanley Smith is a former NASCAR driver and dirt-track racer.
At the 1993 DieHard 500 at Talladega, Smith nearly died from a basilar skull fracture in a massive crash -- the same type of injury that killed Dale Earnhardt. This was the same crash that is best known as the one where Jimmy Horton went over the outside wall and ended up rolling down the embankment outside of the track. Smith hit the wall almost head-on in that crash.
Smith is from Alabama.
