About Stanghelle
Stanghelle is a small place, between Voss and Bergen in western Norway. There are about 800 inhabitants at Stanghelle. The small village lies in Vaksdal commune (municipality) in Hordaland fylke, a commune with ca 4700 inhabitants.
How to get to Stanghelle: You can drive to Stanghelle with car or bus on E16, can take the train, because Stanghelle is a part of Bergensbanen, or you can come to Stanghelle with boat. Stanghelle lays at a fjord (the Osterfjord), so the possibilities with boat are absolutely there.
What to do when you are at Stanghelle: It is not much to do at Stanghelle. Most of the young people that live there, have computers and soccer as their hobbies, and many have also a boat to use in the summer. Stanghelle is an idyllic place, because of the beautiful fjord and the big mountains surounding. In June/July, many Germans and others come on holiday to Stanghelle in their big carawans and stay there in the whole summer. If you are a tourist in Stanghelle, you can go to the dock and fish, borrow a canoe, walk in the mountains or stay at the beach.

At Stanghelle, it is one local store, and one hair saloon. So if you want to shop, this is definitely not the place to travel to.
The reason that people settles in Stanghelle: At Stanghelle, it’s good surroundings, and it is a safe place for kids. The short way to the bigger places Bergen and Voss makes Stanghelle a nice plase to live if you want to work in the city, but live on the "country side". If there are parents that are looking for some quiet place to live, Stanghelle is the right place.
