In music, standard tuning refers to the typical tuning of a string instrument. For example, on a 6-string guitar, the standard tuning is (from low pitch to high pitch) E, A, D, G, B, e; on a four-sting bass guitar, the tuning is(from low pitch to high pitch): E, A, D, G
