[edit] Biography

Stan was born in Japan in 1973 to a Japanese mother and an Irish father. At an early age he and his family moved from Japan to Illinois, then settled in Van Nuys, California. Stan was raised in a strict discipline regime of the military thanks who his father, a former military man who had left the army for a more settled lifestyle after moving to the United States. But despite coming from a strict military family lifestyle, McQuay soon was getting involved with a bad crowd of delinquents in Southern California. Having no choice but to go to a bad high school, Stan made friends with a group of thugs and got into a lot of fights with other school gangs and got arrested on numerous occasions. After graduating, he continued to haging out with his high school friends and did not seemed to go to a good productive future. All of this changed when one of his friends was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for shooting two guys and killing one of them in a fight. On that day Stan was supposed to be hanging out with this friend, but didn't. This experience convinced Stan to change his ways and head to a better path of life.

Stan got a steady job, enrolled in college and focused on his school work. A naturally athletic child, Stan began martial arts training at the age of six and ended up earning two blacks belts in different disciplines at a young age, and played football since he was nine. His desire to play high school football led to weight training since he was only 135 pounds, he knew he needed to be bigger and heavier in order to play better. After graduating he became more serious about training in order to play college football; his body responded and he was able to land a spot in a community college football team. His new look got him a lot of compliments in gym where he was working out. Many people came to him and asked him if he was a bodybuilder or if he was interested in competing. But McQuay was not interested in competing due to his lack of knowledge of the sport. But this changed when Stan and his friends challenged one another to compete at a local show they saw on a flyer. Stan took the challenge seriously and even hired a personal trainer and got into such a great shape that his friends dropped out and he ended up competing alone and winning the show.

Stan became a fan of the bodybuilding lifestyle and even switched his major from business finance to kinesiology and became a certified personal trainer. Today Stan trains up nine people a day and works up to fifty hours a week as a popular personal trainer, works on his house, and trains for his own competitive purposes. More recently Stan moved from weight class, he went from a competitive middleweight to a light-heavyweight, and was able to win his pro card as a light-heavyweight at the 2006 NPC Nationals.
